JAMKS-TO THE STOCKHOLDERS OF THE
SOUTH CAROLINA HAIL ROAD AND SOUTHWESTERN
BANK.?I represent over two million*
of dollars worth of Stock, and with the co-o|H'ration
of others, at the next tu-eting (on the 8th of April,) I
propose to elect a Itoanl of Directors, who hold law
amounts*of the Stock, and who will run the road to
the Interest of the Stockholders. By doing this, our
Stock will be worth seventy-five or eighty dollars per
- share, instead of its present price (530,,) aud pay
handsome semi-annuals dividends.
I would advise you uot to sell your Stock now, but
work to this end.'and you can "then sell for better
prices. Below you will find copy of blank proxy,
please fill out one, and send to me at once, or write to
me for Blank to sign. Persons holding large amounts
of Stock, and wishing to be made Directors, will
please write to me, as we wish some Directors from
Charleston, and some from the interio -. The Road
made fourteen hendred thousand dollars last year,
and paid no dividends. I refer to all the Ranks Li
South Carolina. The present Directors hold but little
Stock.
