READ THE ACT:
THE FOLLOWING ARE ITS PROVISIONS
AFFECTING LANDS
NOW DELINQUENT :
All lands and real estate within ttrs
State, whereupon, or in respect whereof,
any sum of money remains due or payable,
shall be exposed to sale and sold for
the payment of such taxes and all penalties,
costs and charges thereon accrued,
on the first Monday in June, 1872, and
from day to day thereafter, Sundays only
excepted, until the whole thereof shall
le sold, at the place or places, on the
tt -ms and in the manner hereinafter provided:
such sab shall be by the county
treaurer of each county, at the county
seat, vho 8lull expose and offer the said
lands public sale, to be sold and conveyed
i t fee simple without any right of
redempti ->n for the payment thereof.
If at the said sale any person shall publicly
offer to take a less portion than the
"whole of saul lands for the said taxes,
penalties, costs and charges, then the said
lands shall be so'd to such person as shall
offer to take the smallest portion thereof
and pay the same : and upon ihe payment
of the amount due i*o said county treasurer,
said officer shall execute and deliver
to the said purchaser a certificate setting
fourth the fact of such purchase, and the
payment of the amount bkl, and thereupon
the said purchaser shad be entitled
from the State to the undivided light, title
or interest in fee simple without redemption
in and to all the lands ro sold,
and all lands belonging to any person or
persons, or corporation against whom
such was levied and assessed equal to the
proportion which the amount bid hold.s to
the whole of said lands so purchased, aad
the purchaser shall be entitled to demand
partition thereof according to law, and on
said partition the said purchaser shall be
entitled to a proportional share and interest
in all improvements thereon.
The county auditor is required to warrant
the titles to all lands sold for delinquent
taxes, v

On and after May 1st, the Quarantine
! regulations for the harbor of Port Royal will
go into operation.
The ncic Quarantine ground will be indij
cated by a large Quarantine Flag north of
1 Paris Island dock on the west, an t by land a
' mark on the opposite shore.
By the terms of the law all vessels entering
the Harbor, are subject to Quarantine
restrictions, and no vessel will be permitted
to pass the station without a permit from
the boarding officer.
