and are hereby declared to be a body corporate,
by the name and style of the 1
Springfield Baptist-Church, and by that 1
name and style sball have a succession of officers
and members, and shall have a 1

Sec. 2. That ther said corporation shall '!
have power to purchase, receive and hold
any real or personal estate, not exceeding i
in value fifty thousand dollars, and to sell, j
convey and dispose of the same; and by its. | j
corporate name may sue and be sued, in j
any court of competent jurisdiction in this Stat*;
and make such rules and by-laws,
. - not repugnant to the laws thereof, as they }
may deem necessary and expedient.
Sec.'3. That this act shall be deemed
