An Act to Incorporate the Carolina Oi
Company.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senab
and House of Representatives of the Stab
of South Carolina, now met and sitting ii
General Assembly, and by the authority
r of the same:
That Wm. McGuinnis, Edward Hope
Robert C. Shiver. S. L. Leapheart, Johr
Agnew, and their associates and success
ors. are hereby made and created a bodj
politic and corporate, in law, under th<
name and style of the Carolina Oil C ?m
pany. for the purpose of extracting anr
manufacturing Oil from cotton seed anc
other seeds, or grain, and for the purpr>si
of carrying on such other business as raa^
be connected therewith, with such capi
tal as may be subscribed, not exceeding
fifty thousand dollars, 8 lid capital to b*
divided into shares of one hundred dollars
each. *
Sec. 2. The said company sha'l hav?
power, from time to time, by a stock v?t*
of not less than two-thirds of the a-uouui
of capital paid iu, to increase their capita
stock to any amount not exceeding ??ni

That the charter of the Re'ief Loan As
sociation. pasRed on the twentieth d*y of
December, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty six. be.
and is hereby, revived and expended for
the term of five years from the date of this
act.
Sec. 2. The said Association is hereby
re-invested with all the rights of property;
which it had at the expiration of its charter,
or which its trustees may have acquired
since; and shall have power to sue
for and collect all amounts due to the said
' f$ * Association, or its trustees, and to sell and
convey all the said rs'a'e. real or pensonat
al, for the closing up of the said Association.
