* -at Official. Acts and Joint Resolutions passed by th General Assembly of South Carolina Regular Session, 1871 and 1872. An Act to Incorporate the Carolina Oi Company. Section 1. Be it enacted by the Senab and House of Representatives of the Stab of South Carolina, now met and sitting ii General Assembly, and by the authority r of the same: That Wm. McGuinnis, Edward Hope Robert C. Shiver. S. L. Leapheart, Johr Agnew, and their associates and success ors. are hereby made and created a bodj politic and corporate, in law, under th< name and style of the Carolina Oil C ?m pany. for the purpose of extracting anr manufacturing Oil from cotton seed anc other seeds, or grain, and for the purpr>si of carrying on such other business as raa^ be connected therewith, with such capi tal as may be subscribed, not exceeding fifty thousand dollars, 8 lid capital to b* divided into shares of one hundred dollars each. * Sec. 2. The said company sha'l hav? power, from time to time, by a stock v?t* of not less than two-thirds of the a-uouui of capital paid iu, to increase their capita stock to any amount not exceeding ??ni hundred thousand dollars including theii r present capital stock. Books may be re opened for the purpose of obtaiuing addi tional subscribers to such iucreased sto. k in such manner as the company may deem expedient; aud whenever any 111 crease of capital shall be rnide beyoud ti ty thousand dollars, as adores lid, the President of the company shall 1111k-a'fidavit of the fact aud file the same iu tin office of the Secreta'y of State, and make public notice thereof once a week for thre? weeks consecutively in a uews p?p-riii the city of Columbia, which shall be legal notice to all persons dealing with sai<l c ?? po ration. Sec. 4 The said corporation shall not go into operation until twenty thousand dollars of the capital stock shall he pan! in gold or silver, or United S'ates Tr? as. tiry notes, or notes o National Bmks. The personal liability of thj stockh ?Mer* for the dehts or liahiliths of saiil corpora tion shall be limited to the amount of stock subscribed by them. Sec 5.
