Little Dorothy Bowen spent the woelc-end with Little Clair and Ber tha Young. Miss Sallie Martin, Miss Sara Cres well and little Lula Creswell of Cedar Spring were the spend-the-day guests of Mrs. T. A. Talbert and family on last Wednesday. Miss Ruth Young of Lanes Valley \ spent the week-end very pleasantly in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Franklin near Beulah. Sorry to report Miss Jane Creswell and Miss Zellie Langley both on the sick list. Hope for them a speedy recovery, also Mrs. Maggie Young. Pleasant visitors in the home of Mr. Joe Young for the week-end were Miss Minnie Bell Talbert and little Elizabeth Creswell. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Brown, Marion Louise, also Miss Lena Spence spent Sunday with Mr. T. F. and Miss Zellie Langley. Mrs. Maggie Creswell of Piedmont is spending a lew days wren reiauves ,in and around Troy. Messrs. Ralph and Raymond BeaUford were recent visitors with home folks, Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Beauford. Visitors in the home of Mr. Joe .Young Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Young, little J. A., Jr., Mr. Joel Young and Mr. Edward Long all of South Greenwood, also Mr. A. W. Young and daughter Miss Margaret ajid little Elise Redden. We are again sorry to learn of Miss Maggie Young being back on the sick list at this writing. Trust she will soon be up again. Callers to see Mr. and Mrs. R. A Crawford Sunday were Mr. J. A. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. P. Long, Misses Margaret and Alma Young. Mr. Carl Young and sisters, Alma and Irene, spent Saturday night with their aunt, -Mrs. Fannie McCaslan and Mr. Furman. We are having beautiful weather now, the farmers are busy sowing grain and gathering their corn. Miss Grace 7>aasby spent last week with her grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Dansby. Sorry to report the death of Mr. G. W. Hollingsworth of Troy. The family have our heartfelt sympathy. Mr. Joe Young dined with Mr. J. C.\Dansby last Thursday. Wasgatt, assia- \ tant commissioner, who are studing t conditions in the textile industry of of the Carolinas and Georgia, spent j today visiting cotton mills in the 1 vicinity of Charlotte. 1 The trip was said to ,be for tho j purpose of informing New England \ manufacturers of the situation . in the southern .textile centers which have 'been making large strides in the recent years as the New England interests wish to take steps if possible to Jceep thoir position in the industry.
