Injures Arm Skating.
Bob Edmunds was skating several
weeks ago and injured his arm. It
was thought only a small injury, but
it became necessary this week for
him to be taken to the Hospital and
have the arm reset and straightened.

DEATH OF DR. DEAS.

Miss Daisy Maxwell and Mr. T. H.
Maxwell have returned from Augusta,
Ga., where they were called on
account of the death of their brother-in-law,
Dr. Andrew J. Deas. Dr.
Deas was in the 59th year of his age
and was one of the most prominent
physicians of Augusta. He married j
Miss Lillian Maxwell, and is survived j
by her and two sons, Dr. Andrew J. j
Deas, of Richmond, Va., and H.
Maxwell Deas, of Boston, and two|
daughters, Mrs. J. Todd Harwell of |
Atlanta, and Mrs. Merrill Powell ofj
Gainesille, Ga.

representing sales of $60,000,000
worth of automobiles during October
was announced today by the local internel
revenue collector. The luxury
tax payments here last month, the;
collector stated, were in excess of the!
total for many months and indicated!

Lee, assistant commandant of Clem
son college, was brought to the Anderson
county hospital last night,
suffering from severe injuries received
in an automobile acident,
which happened in Pendleton, Captain
Lee was driving a car and in
attempting to avoid hitting a bug-1
gy in which a negro man and wom-j
an were riding, smashed into a tree j
Captain Lee had his jaw bone,
broken and his right arm fractured J

and one eye removed. Captain Lee i
is from Lagrange, Ga., is an army;
man and unmarried. The young j

MARION WILSON LEAVES
Marion Wilson, one of the best
known colored men of Abbeville,
left yesterday for Washington, D. C.,

daughters who are living in that city.
Marion says he is coming home if he
does not like Washington, and his
Abbeville friends hope he will get
tired of the city life before the
snow flies, and return to his home
here.
