About fifty uests were present and took part 1 the games. On Oct. 10th the Abbeville CounIty Council of farm women met in the , city hall with Mrs. W. P. Wham, presiding. Miss Elizabeth Forney, , State Dairy Specialist, and who has | charge of the Women's Work over j the State made a very instructive ; talk on "Organizing the Council of jFarm Women." She read the constij tution so well that here was 'very little discussion before it [was adopted as a whole. The same officers were reelected jand directors from different sec-^ jtions of the county were appointed by the president. The following are the officers of the council for the coming year: Mrs. W. P. Wham, South Side Ciub, President. Mrs. J. R. McWhite, Cold Spring Club, 1st vice-presiednt. Mrs. Tom Cooley, Lowndesville, 2nd vice presiednt. October 20th was decided for the . opening of the market in new quarters, a vacant store room loaned by Mr. R. E. Cox. A marketing committee was appointed to make plans for making and keeping the market going and advertising it. Mrs. Tom Cochran, Cold Springs'Club, Mrs. Will Rogers, Brownlee Club, and Mrs (J. R. Vandiver, Antreville Club, are members of this committee. The appointing of a secretary for the market was postponed until later. There were about 28 ladies pres| ent at this meeting and plans were discussed for having a Thanksgiving Market day. As soon as the secretary is appointed it will be made known and she will take all orders fox (Thanksgiving and the market will try to supply the people of the town with what they want at attractive prices. - We appreciate the interest that the town ladies tool* in this meeting and hope that in th< ' I future that more will come to oui 1 meetings.
