Second Distribution Made Today
Total Accruals for June, July
and August $109,837.54

Sam T. Carter, will mail checks
Monday to the different counties foi
their portion of the gasoline tax collected
during the months of June,
July and August. The total acrual
to the counties to be mailed out
Monday was announced by Mr. Cariter
as $109,837.54.
Of this figure Charleston leads
with $9,426.18 while Spartanburg
is second with $8,008.58.
Under the gasoline tax act 50 per
cent, of the tax collected goes to .the
counties and 50 per cent, to the general
state fund;
Abbeville will receive $1,534.56;
Anderson, $5,451.26; Charleston,
$9,426.18; Greenville, $7,011.83;
Greenwood $2,673.20; McCormick,
$766.05; Newberry $2,455.54; Spartanburg
$8,008.58.

as Fire Prevention Day by Governt

by Mr. W. D. Wilkinson. Mr.

was heard with splendid attentive
interest by the pupils and teachers of
the high school. At the conclusion of
his address Mr. Wilkinson announced

The statistics coming in for the
first month of school this session
shows that the average attendance
for the month of September is going
to be one of the best, if not the
best, ever before made at school.
The eighth grade, for example,
shows an enrollment of even 50 pupils
and an average daily attendance
of 49.85 for the month.
