In the Cake* Walk, Watson Wilson and Miss Annie Gibert won first place and carried off the Cake given as the prize in this contest. Lowrie Wilson and Andrew Ferguson were fined 25 ce<nts each for not appearing in costume. Ice cream and cake were served. Karnes, Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1922, when their sister, Miss Katherine Waddell Scott," became the bride of Rev. A. E. Dallas, of Rockingham, N. C. The ceremony > was performed by Rev. L. E. The entire lower floor was thrown together and was elaborately decorated with goldenrod, clematis and ferns. As guests arrived they were met at the door by the hostess and ushered into the reception hall where punch was served by Mrs. R. S. Dower, under a beautiful yellow canopy draped with clematis. The guests then assembled in the living i room where a musical program was J rendered by Mrs. W. B. Fuqua and! Mr. E. S. Jones while the bridal procession was forming. The ceremony took place in' the library, under a white arch cov-j ered with clematis, from which was suspended a large wedding bell. On! either side of the arch were banked masses of goldenrod and ferns. As the opening.bars of th wedding march were sounded, the officiating; ministers took their places beneath j the arch. Then the bridegroom and; his best man, Stuart Scott, of Winston-Salem, N.
