Aug. 15.?Douglas Fairbanks motion picture actor, was arrested Saturday night for speed ing, it became known today. He was said to have been driving 35 miles an hour. His wife Mary Pick ford, was with him. Fairbanks will appear for trial August 22. Miss Alma Mae Fleming has re turned home after a visit to Ander son and Greenwood. Under Priority Orders. For Delivery To Consignees Washington, Aug. 15.?Railroads ivere warned today by the interstate commerce commission to cease con ^seating coal moving over their lines to consignees who are called pretfered under the federal fuel distribution !plan. , "The commission's" attention has j been called to the fact that railroads i frequently confiscate coal which is ] being moved under priority of equal j or higher class than coal for railroad I -c?i ? ?i i i il. iuci as uruereu vy urns uumuiioaivii said a commission notice. "This practice is not consistent with the spirit of the service orders of the commission and tends to de feat the efforts now being made to insure the most efficient distribution of coal." Present railroad practices in mak ing special rates to Atlantic and Gulf coast ports on coal for delivery to ships were found justified today by the commission, though they re sult in higher charges on coal mov ing to local consumption in the Sea board cities than on coal moved through those cities to vessels. The rates* on the shipped coal, under the commission's} theory, are to be con jsidered as only part of a charge for a rail and water haul.
