ENTERTAINED IN NEW YORK The State of Saturday carries the story of a pleasant entertainment endered the South Carolina students )f Columbia University summer school. This party was given at the lome of Mrs. Pinckney Lee Estes Jlantzburg who is well known to the people of the A. R. P. church, the Srskine student body and the peo ple of the state generally. MISS REID ENTERTAINS Miss Mary Reid entertained twen ty of her friends Friday evening in honor of her cousin, Miss Allee Bas kin of Anderson. Miss Jane Hough of Chester, a graduate of Winthrop College, has accepted a position in the Abbeville City schools. * EXAMINATIONS Special examinations for all pu pils who are conditioned will be hel din the graded school Friday and Saturday, August 25th and 26th. TO DEDICATE CHURCH There will be special dedicatory services of Little Mountain church next Sunday (the third Sunday) and protracted services through the fol lowing week. PICNIC AT CENTRAL. There will be a picnic and hash! dinner at Central next Saturday, August the 19th. The public is invit ed to attend.
