J. Townes Rob ertson bought this dipper, becaus when Mrs. Robertson was a smal girl and came to Abbeville, sh would stop in and get a drink o cool water from the family of Col Burt. This silver dipper was use then, and very much admired b; Mrs. Robertson, so when the sal was made, Col. Robercso* bough the dipper for his wife because o her girlhood recollection. ?--4t,rv FIRST BAPTJST CHURCH The pastor will preach Sunday at 11 a. m. on the subject, "Unspotted from the World." The subject of the sermon will be "Where are We Drifting-" This sermon will be a discussion of our modern ten dencies and the menaca seen in them. The Sunday school is rejoicing in the return of many of our pup:ls who have been absent. The goal for the attendance is yet 300. We ars far short of it now. All the teachers of the Sunday school are urged to look after absent***; now. On last Sunday the Men's Class elected Mr. W. P. Wham as teacher and the class starts off with enthusiasm to win others. The Baptist Young People's Union had their first meeting last Sunday. Owing to the fact that the quarterlies did not come in time the usual program was not carried out. The prayermeeting of the church is growing. A splendid at tendance wtas in evidence last Wed nesday. During the hot months the prayermeeting will meet in the basement of the church. The church is very anxious to make a good report for this half of the year and all the members are earnestly requested to help the church do this.
