The Young Woman's Auxiliary of
the Baptist church gave a picnic for
its members at Martin's Mill on
Tuesday night. About twenty-five
were present and enjoyed the even
ing. After swimming refreshments in
picnic style were served.

Numbers of Camden citizens gave

NEW FORM OF TRANSPORT
'Mrs. Mary Saylors, from near
Ware Shoals, at a hearing before
Magistrate D. M. Humphreys Mon
day at Donalds, was bound ever for
her appearance in court the first
Monday in September, for storing,
having in her possession and trans
porting whiskey. The method of
transportation in this case was a
workbag fastened to her waist with
a draw string at the top. When the
prohibition officers gaimd ground
she swung the workbag against a
rock and broke the evidence. Sheriff
McLane has the workbag in his of
fice.

The tea table was 'a lovely sight,
the center of the table being given
up to two handsome cakes, one with
five and one with three candles. A
delightful tea was served and the
occasion was a most pleasant one.
FRED HILL'S PICNIC.
Fred Hill, Jr., celebrated his sixth
birthday with a picnic at the City
Park Tuesday the 13th. About thirty
five of his little friends were present
and the following grown people saw
that they had a good time: Mrs. Fred
Hill, Mrs. R. E. Cox, Miss MaTy Hill
Harris, Miss Margaret Perrin and
Capt Jack Perrin.
A grand time was had paddling in
the branch, looking at the animals
in the park, and last but not least
was the picnic dinner, which was
served in individual picnic baskets,
each little guest having a dinner bas
ket filled with chicken, sandwiches.

things. In each basket was an indi
vidual drinking cup for drinking
lemonade. A delightful time was had
by all present.

Mr. Staraes came to Abbeville
from Ninety-Six and is connected
