A brilliant event of the holiday season was the marriage Wednesday evening of Miss Sara Perrip and Robert Emmet Cox, the nuptials tak ing place at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs# J. L. Perrin. The Rev. G. M. Telford of the Long Cane Presbyterian church was the officiating minister. Mr. and Airs. Cox left after . the reception for New York. The room in which the ceremony was performed had a color scheme of white and green, brass jardinieres of mistletoe Occupied the pedestals and the chandelies were draped with white maline and mistletoe and holly. The prelude music was ren dered by Miss Margaret Burton of Newberry, she playing a medley of love songs appropriate in wording -and sentiment. Misses Mary and Mar garet Perrin, sisters of the bride, in pink taffeta dresses and carrying bouquets of Killarney roses, led the procession that descended the stairs promptly at the hour of 9, followed by Fred Hill, Jr., in a Lord Faun'tte roy suit of black velvet, bearing the ring oh a silver tray. The bride en tered upon the arm of her fattier, Capt. J. L. Perrin, the clerk of court, and was met at the improvised altar I by Mr. Cox, the bridegroom, at tended by Bayard Swetettburg as" best man. During the ceremony Shubert's "Serenade"'* was rendered by Miss Margaret Burton. In her white "wedding gown of duchess'satirt and lace With" trailing veil caught' with orange blossoms, the bride made a picture Of loveli ness. Cox, and Mrs. Cox, is cashier of the County Sav ings Bank. Following his graduation from Clemson, Mr. Cox attended the first officers training camp at Ogle thorpe and was commissioned in the j army where he served in the ord-1 nanee and field artillery banches. He j was also at one time an employee of the federal government stationed in the Phillipines. - .
