were married yesterday afternoon at
4 o'clock at the home of the bride's
parents, the Rev. G. M. Telford per
forming the ceremony. Mrs. J. C.
King, Mr. Ellis' sister, attended the M
wedding. Mr. Ellis is an ex-service
man and a prosperous farmer. The
young couple are receiving the con
gratulations of their friends.

that of Miss Glendel Bowen of

Leslie; Jr., of Abbeville, which was

vited the guests into the dining
room where a delicious salad course
with coffee was served by Misses
Elizabeth Bowen, Virginia Leslie,
Cara Blackstone, Anita Pruitt and
Florence Clinkscales.
As the guests left the dining
room souvenirs were pinned on by
Misses Sarah Leslie and Howard
Hill, Messrs. Howard Clinkscales
and Carlisle Bates.

the young couple left for Washing
ton and New York. After their re
turn they will (be at home In Abbe
ville to their many friend*.
Miss Bo wen is the eldest daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Bowen,
a young lady of many charms and
has a winning personality. She is a
graduate of Greevnille Woman's
College. Mr. Leslie is one of Abbe
ville's most successful young busi
ness men , a Clemson graduate and
a member of the faculty for two
years. He is a World (war veteran
and served overseas for eight
months.
