about two o'clock this morning by

George Washington. Mr. Brown, who
was about 40 years of age, lived at
Plum Branch and had gone to the
home of a neighbor about half an

Stopped on the railroad which is
just in front of the home of the
neighbor, whom he had visited, and

his body.
Coroner Riddlehoover was on the
scene early this morning and held an
inquest the jury returning a verdict
that the deceased came to his- death

of the ?. & W. C. railway.
Mr. Brown was well thought of and
had numerous friends who will regret
to hear of his untimely death. Mr.
Brown was married 20 years ago to
Miss Boddie, a doughter of Magis

Ahout one hour.before the killing
of Mr. Brown an automobile carrying
some men and women, whose names
could not be learned from Greenville

the public highway near Plum Branch

to the other, inflicting a wound on
the leg of one of the men in the car
going to Savannah. This car return
ed to McCormick for assistance and
later went to Augusta to take the
wounded man to the hospital for
treatment. While the wound in his
leg is said to be painful, it is not
thought to be serious. None of the
names of the parties could be learn
ed here this morning and no arrests
