MONTGOMERY-EVANS
Kingstree, Nov. 7.?One of the
prettiest weddings ever seen in
Sreeleyville was that which took place
in the Presbyterian church Wednesday
evening, October 26, when M:ss
Mary Lena Montgomery became the
iiridfe of the Rev. Charles S. Evans
jf Abbeville. j
The church had been beautifully
decorated with ferns, moss and cut
flowers and these with tall wax tapers
made a scene of loveliness. Just
Kpfore the bridal party entered, Mrs.
M. F. Montgomery, accompanied by
Mesdames Leon Ferrell and Sanders
E?ave a short musical program, Mrs.
Ferrell singing, "O Perfect Love." To
the strains of the . wedding march
from Lohengrin, the bridal party entered.
The ushers, Dr. O'Bryan and
Thomas Burgess, were followed by
the maid of honor, Miss Annie Reed
Evans. Next came the little ringbearer,
Ned Montgomery, carrying the
ring in the heart of a rose. Then
came the bride on the arm of her
father, Frank Montgomery, who gave
her in marriage. She was lovely in her
suit of midnight blue broadcloth with
an exquisite blouse and accessories to
match. H#r corsage was of bride
roses. She was met at the altar by the
bridegroom, who was attended by his
best man, Mr. Barber of Columbia.
Durng the wedding ceremony, which
was performed by the Rev. Ratchford
nf fJvoolnwillp with the Rev. Mr.
Grier of Maysville, assisting Mrs. M.
F. Montgomery played "To a Wild
Rose." The impressive ring ceremony
was used.
The bridal party left the church to
Mendelssohn's wedding march.
The Rev. Mr. Evans and his bride
left immediately after the ceremony
for a wedding trip, after which they
w'll be at home to their friends in
Lincolnton, Ga., where the bridegroom
is a popular young preacher.
The bride is a bright and attractive
young woman and her many friends
will regret that her marriage will
take her elsewhere to live.
