BICE WANTS WIFE
Judge Prince Order* Belt te Bring
Mrs. Bice to Court
Anderson Mail.
Judge George E. Prince this morning
issued en order requiring W.
Lewis Bolt to bring the body of
Janie Moorehead Bice, to his chambers
at Anderson Monday morning,
August 15th, to await the disposition
of the court when the hearing
is completed.
The papers in the case were filed
by W< P* Bice and Moselle Bice, tys
son, who appeal foT the return of
Tanio MnnrehonH Ripp. t.VtP wife of
Moselle Bice. From information, it
seems that Moselle Bice and Jania
Moorehead, a niece of Yf. Lewis 1
Bolt, were married on August 7th in
Greenwood and that on August 8th ;
Bolt came and took the young wife
away from her husband.
It is said that Mr. Bolt declares'
that the girl is not 14 years of age,
and that the marriage is null.
The petition to Judge Prince upon
which the order was issued, reads:
1. That W. P. Bice is a citizen and
a resident of the county of Andersonson
and that petitioner Moselle Bice[
is the son of W. P. Bice^ and is the
husband of Janie Moorehead Bice,
all of whom reside in the county of ,
Anderson as well as the respondent,
W T -curia Rnlt.
2. That petitioner Moselle Bice
married Janie Moorehead on the
seventh day of August, 1921, said
state.1
3.. That respondent W. Lewis
Bolt, on the eighth day of August,
1921, forcibly, unlawfully and
against the will and consent of the
petitioners; Moselle Bice and W. P.
Bice, and against the will and consent
of Janie Moorehead Bice, did
seize the said Janie Moorehead1 Bice
and carried 'her to his home and the
said respondent now has Janie M.
Bice in his unlawful possession and |
detains her unlawfully against the
will of the said Janie M. Bice, and
igainst the will of the petitioners.
4. That the said Janie M. Bice
is being restrained of her liberty unlawfully,
is unable for that reason
:o petition the court for a writ of
labeas corpus.
Wherefore, your petitioners pray
a writ of habeas corpus to deliver
the said Janie M. Bice from the custody
and control of the respondent,
W. Lewis Bolt, and that the said
Janie! M. Bice be allowed to leave
he custody and control of the respondent
and tp go with her husband,
Moselle Bice, and for such relief
as may be just.
