Cards were the pleasure of the morning. \ " f I J A DELIGHTFUL PARTY Misses Rachel and Susarn Minshall gave a party at their home Thursday Rachel having traveled along life's highway for thirteen years. Twenty fout friends were invited to the party and they spent a pleasant afternoon playing games. "All-daysuckers' dressed in yellow crepe paper as old fashioned ladies were souvenirs. The "party" was a genuine affair, consisting of chicken salad, pickles, crackers and orange sherbet. x FOR. MISS LUCY WHITE Mrs. John White ? entertained at four tables of Rook Wednesday afternoon in honor of her sister, Miss Lucy White of Atlanta. The party was accompanied by Mrs. Laura Faulkner. SOCIETY MEETING The Working Society of the MethJ odist church met at the home' of Mrs. Lamar Gilliam Tuesday afternoon with a good attendance. Mrs.J. C. Ellis, president presided. Much business was attended to. Plans for the baaaar were perfected. After the business meeting a delightful social half hour was enjoyed. Mrs. Ferguson delighted the society with two beautiful solos and Mrs. Wilkinson made an interesting talk. Ice tea. sandwiches and crackers were, served and the afternoon was much enjoyed. SEARCH FOR HOSPITAL Washington, June 8.?Director R. C. Forbes of the war risk insurance bureau, notified Southern members! ' j of congress this afternoon that the government was desirous of securing a site of 300 acres for the erection of a hospital for the treatment of ex-service men suffering from tubercular and neverous disorders. The climate of the South forced the construction of the hospital in th^t section of the country, it was said. The hospital will carry a monthly payroll of $30,000.
