The regular meeting of the Bridge club will be held Friday afternoon at half past four o'clock at the home of Mrs. Wyatt -Aiken. THE BOOK CLUB. The regular meeting of the Book club will be held Wednesday after noon at half past four o'clock at the home of Mrs. J. C. Klugh. A PLEASANT MORNING. Mrs. R. C. Philson entertained a few friends last Thursday morning at a pleasant luncheon party com plimentary to Miss Julia Schwerin, who has been the guest for some time of Mrs. Sol Rosenberg. FROM MT. CARMEL. Mrs. George McKelvey, Miss Caro McKelvey, Miss Maggie Sutherland and Miss Wells came up from Mt. Carmel Monday and spent the day shopping. DR. WHALING PREACHES Rev. Thornton Whaling, D. D., of Columbia, preached in the Presbyte rian church Sunday morning. The eve ning service was omitted on account of the revival services at the Metho dist church. BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT ANTREVILLE On March 17th at their hospitable country home, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erwin entertained at a dinner in honor of Mr. Erwin's 70th birthday. The children and grandchildren from the different parts of the state were back home for the occasion. This invited guest was also there and the day was most delightfully spent. The dining, room was attractively arranged, a sumptuous turkey din ner was served, including a feast of ?ood things which those who were privileged to partake will not soon forget. The afternoon was delight fully spent. Mrs. Duckworth, form erly a missionary to Central Ameri ca, sang a number of songs in Spanish and Mr. Albert Erwin, a senior in Erskine College, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin gave a splendid oration on the subject 'Yes terday, and Today." The family present included, Mr, and Mrs. A. M. Erwin, Mr. Arthur Erwin, wife and son, Sharon, S. C., Mr. and Mrs. Wister Williams and three children, Anderson County, Mrs. Eunice E. Holland, Aiken S. C., Mr. and Mrs. James "Erwin and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Langdon Erwin and two children, Mr. Henry Erwin, of Antreville, Mr. Albert Erwin, Due West. Other guests were, Mrs. J. E. Brownlee, Abbeville County, Mrs. Lillian Sitton, Seneca, S. C., Mrs. Sue Holland, Anderson, Rev. and Mrs. J. R. McRee, Master John B. McRee, Iva, S.
