THE BOOK CLUB The regular meeting of the book club is being held this afternoon at the home of Mrs. W. E. Johnson. In addition to the regular members Mrs. Johnson has invited several guests and a pleasant meeting is in progress. MRS. BRISTOW ENTERTAINS Mrs. Otto Bristol entertained the Merrie Matrons Tuesday a^iernoon at an unusually pleasant meeting. The young folks gathered early and played the games with zest. Mrs. Joe Everett, of Spartanburg, was present as a guest and added to the pleasure of the afternoon. A salad course with coffee was served. MRS. CALVERT ENTERTAINS Mrs. G. E. Calvert was hostess j Tuesday afternoon to a dozen of her friends at a pleasant card party. The ladies gathered early and en joyed the social intercoudse and the card games. D. Barksdale, who has been in Anderson for abouut ten days, under the care of a physician, has so far recovered her good health that she has returned to Abbeville. NEW PREACHER Rev. James Marion Mason, the new preacher of the Abbeville Circuit of the Methodist Church, was in the city Monday meeting our people and looking a'fter work connected with his charge. Rev.
