ASSOCIATE JUSTICE PNEUMONIA VICTIM Daniel Edward Hydrick Passes Away Away in Washington.?Funeral In Spartanburg Today. I Washington, Jan. 15.?Judge D. E Hydrick, associate justice of th* su preme court of South Carolina, died of pneumonia at the Raleigh hotel this morning at 1:15 o'clock. With him at the time of death was his son, Dr. J. L. Hydrick. Mrs. J. M. Wallace of Spartanburg, a daughter was on her way to Washington when *- the end came. Judge Hydrick came to Washing-! -Jon December 31. He became ill on the first day of the year. His illness in the beginning was diagnosed as la grippe in severe form. Pneumonia developed. The remains will arrive in Spartan burg at 1 o'clock tomorrow after noon accompanied by Dr. Hydrick and Mrs. Wallace. Funeral arrange ments have^not yet been completed, but interemnt will be in Oakwood, where Mrs. Hydrick, who died some years ago, was buried. Associate Justice D. E. Hydrick was about 60 years of age and was considered one of the most scholarly lawyers and jurists South Carolina has produced. HUGH AIKEN Laurens, Jan. 15.?Following the election of the same board of direc tors at the annual meeting yester day of the Laurens National Bank, of which the late Dr. Hugh K. Aiken was president, the directors elected J. J. Adams as president and George Blakely cashier. G. M. Miller and W. C. Wharton were elected vice presidents. Mr. Adams, the new president has been easnier of the bank for several years, while- Mr. Blakely has been assistant cashier for about two years. De La HOWE RECOMMENDED W. H. Gibbes, Chief Game War den for the State in his report to the Legislature gives the number of li censes sold in Abbeville County as one thousand seven hundred and ninety-two and thirty dollars collect ed in fines and forfeitures.
