ARMED GIRL ROUTS HAZERS

battle and a free-for-all fight in
which one student was shot and another
beaten into insensibility. The

The row started when three boys
and two girls drove up to attend a
party. They were seized by five hasars.
Carl Ambrose, a boy escorting
the girls, drew a revolver and shot
Theodore Liox, sophomore. Neil
Dickson, an upper classman, tore
the gun away from Ambrose. The
masked youths beat Ambrose into
insensibility. Two of the girls then
took a hand. One obtained the gun
and fired shots. The masked boys

Ft zero mid. editor of the Daytrna
Daily News, was indicted by the Volusia
county grand jury here today
on a charge of criminal libel in connection
with alleged publication of
a letter purporting to have been
written by H. C. Sparkman, editor
Daytona Morning Journal, offering
to sell votes to certain itepuouc&n
leaders in Jacksonville.
Votes of several hundred white
and negro women were to be "eold"
for a consideration of $2,000, according
to the alleged letter. Fitzgerald
will be arraigned in circuit
court here tomorrow morning, being
allowed Hberty in the meantime.
Spar km an asserted the letter was
a forgery, and toe Jacksonville men
to whom it was said to have been addressed
were quoted by him as having
declared they had never received
such a document from him.
