WAGES GOING DOWN
i Gaffney, Nov. 1.?The cotton
1 mills of Gaffney have announced a
15 per cent reduction in wages, to
? take effect on the first day of November.
The management of the va
rious mills say that the reduction is
made with the greatest % reluctance,
and nothing but stern necessity
would have caused them to issue
such an order. All of the mills of
Gaffney have quantities of goods in
their warehouses, there being practically
no demand for the goods at
this time.
