(ADAME BERNHARDT MAY

Paris, Aug. 30.?Madame Sarah
lernhardt will in all likelihood be
orced to abandon her intended trip
o the United States -on account of

"Madame Bernhardt was in great
ain today," her son, Maurice told

hat unless complications set in
here is no reason to fear death."
An endless stream of inquries
fter her health were received at

very diplomatic corps called. More
han a thousand telegrams were reeived.
They included messages
rom the king of England and Italy.
A PRAYER.
I would not choose my path, nor
mdertake today to map my ' course,
lor go alone upon my way; for in
y blindness, I could not see the
vay that is best for me. I'd choose

ihunning the flinty path for one
rhere lights of pleasure glowed, forretting
that within the blossoms on

nd hidden dangers waited there. I
lo not ask to have the way made
lear to me unto the end, I only ask
o see one step ahead, if Thou art
here to lead and to defend.

A girl's health must be good if
