The ' attempt to arrest the governor
and his party was declared by
Roy E. Leyton, adjutant general of
. Ohio, who accompanied the governor,
to have been planned by Republicans
to embarrass the Democratic
nominee, General Leyton
said a warning of the tylan had been
received yesterday.

disregarded outstretched arms of i

Within a few minutes two motorcycle
officers stopped the cars of
the governor and press correspondents
declaring all under arrest and
demanding their return to Jacksontown.
Governor Cox identified himself
but the officers said they had
order from J&eksontown authorities
"to arrest all four automobiles of
the party, no matter who they contained"
on charges of speeding.

"You can reach me at the executive
offices at Columbus any time,"
Governor Cox replied, ordering all
the cars to proceed and leaving the
officer taking down numbers of
cars.

holdings here and elsewhere, who i
for years has posed as a moral uplifter

of the negro masonic grand lodge.
The ground of complaint is that
McRary deliberately sought to and
succeeded in' wrecking the domestic
life of H. B. Varner, the plaintiff,
by invading Mr. Varner's home during
his absence.

all tangible and intangible holdings
