IN HONOR OF MISS REDFERN '?r Miss Kate Haskell has as her visitor, Miss Ann Redeem, of Clemson College and Friday entertained the young people of the town at a card party in compliment to her. Miss Redfern is an attractive young lady and her visit' is giving pleasure to scores of friends. A SHOWER , / The miscellaneous shower given by, Mrs. W. P. Wham Thursday after-' noon in honor of Miss Leila Wood,' w*s a most charming pai-ty and was thoroughly enjoyed by her guests.' The "shower" showed the rocky road: I to^jnatrimony; Miss Wood being led' along a garden path and told to pick' up the numerous rocks along the way, which proved to be a collection of handsome and useful g:fts. The "love story of the woods" was a bright little contest which was won by Miss Gwen Bristow who received a box of candy as a pnze. Cream and cake was served as| refreshments. MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT Dr. and Mrs. G. A. Neuffer entertained a number pi their frienJs last evening with a musical program rendered by Dr Rakestraw and Miss Reep of the new hospital staff. Dr. Rakestraw has a wonderful voice and his rendition of both the old time songs as well as a few of the latest Broadway hits was speniiid. Miss Reep is an excellent accompanist and helps bring out the | ; pleasing qualities of the singer's j voice by her thorough understand- . ing of the tecnique of music. Miss Fannie Stark was discovered ! among the guests and obligingly j consented to add her sweet voice to i Dr. Rakestraw's program. The doc-j tor also delighted the guests by giving them a bit of sound philosophy contained in the piece,. "Give me my. flowers while 1 am living." About twenty-five guests enjoyed the evening which was a fitting aftermath to the exercises at- i tendant upon the opening of the I " i County hospital earlier in the j .evening. DEATH OF INFANT.
