PROFESSOR BILL WILSON | Coi. Bill Wilson is still working for! Mr. Haddon. He thanks us for offering him a Summer Course in Dick Wilson's Rural School, but he says that he doesn't need it. He thinks that Dick may need some instruction himself, and in case Dick finds this to be the case, Col. Bill says that he will give a night or two in every week in order to "review" Dick ancr any others needing a little "slicking up" in the lessons of the popular game. Colonel* Bill tells us that he wants j$> understood that he is no pupil. He is a full-fledged professor, he says, ranking with Hoyle, Charley Brown and Dick Wilson himself, and with Elwell also, but only as a pasteboard artist. He also informed us that he bad given King LiinK, 01 rress ana Banner Block, and Col. Gus Smith, who is, next to King Link, the biggest liener in town an examination in the Syntax of Setback Thursday evening last, and that the King did not even "shoot from taw,'" while Col. Gus was not much better. Inflated in pride by the accident which happened a few evenings before, and believing that luck might again prevail over 1.?r-/v 1 Tun CQtTQ P.ftl UCaUTTVia) VW*. */*** V??wv WW.* . , Gus had the pitching done at his North Main residence in order that W. Joel, George, and the others of the children, might see what artists he and King Link really are. W. Joel, be tells us, found out at the end of the first game and went to bed, but that George was more hopeful, if worse disappointed in the end. From the way Col. Bill talks about himself we expect that in a year or two he will be able to play on Greenville street, that is if he ever learns : I to bid on the ace. irm Quality ' v The Dort i j sign. C. Browis' on lov/er South Main Street, and only the walls of the Methodist church next door are left standing.
