Col. A. F. Canvile, of Level Land,

of Mrs. Canvile, who looks a great

booking than her husband, though

This was the first visit the Colonel
made to the city since he relumed
from the State of Texas,

A Tennessee dealer sold to the
highest bidded a carload of 23 milk (

Col. Bill Calvert was one of the big
buyers and Vestryman Bill Barn- ;
well only went in lightly. Among
the lot there were cows of all sorts
some of them fair and others more
like the cow about which the school
boy wrote when he said "a cow is
an animal that has four legs, one on
each corner." The highest price
paid for any was $88.50.

announced their engagement Mr.
Kling told his daughter that if she i

ried life in humble quarters, but the !
bride made up her mind that she ;
and her husband would eventually
win out and they did.

man. He regards Alexander Hamil-j
ton as the greatest constrictive'
statesman of all time.
Once when asked how hy had'
earned his first dollar he said:
