justifiable pride inu the playground
equipment obtained through the
<rood offices of Mrs. W. F. Nickles
of the Parent Teacher Association
She raised $809 by going out and

cases the response was both a compliment
and a complement to the appeal.
In today's issue the Press and Banner
is publishing cuts of some of the
playground equipment. It is to be regretted
ihat cuts of all the equipment
could not be obtained, but
what is shown here will give some
idea of what has been secured and
its benefit to the children. The cuts
show a six swing outfit, a giant
stride and a slide.
When the total equipment arrives
which has been ordered, and
has been installed, there will be in
addition to that mentioned above, a
set of traveling rings, two basket ball
courts, a volley ball court, a tennis
court, another slide or chute-de-chute
a t^ee saw, quoits ana an ocean wave.
That part of the equipment which
has already been installed has made
a big hit with the children. There is
during play hours a waiting line at
every apparatus and after school
hours the equipment is kept busy.
It would be futile to go into the
value of such apparatus to the
school children; it keeps them occupied
at healthful exercise, directs
their energies when they might be
idle or worse, gives them pleasure
and refreshes them for the return tc
studies.
