Mrs. Burnsides 'and son, " Waldo Burnsides, of Washington, D. C., were week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mre. A. B. Morse. Mr. I Bum?ides and Albert Morse served as lieutenants in the same company ? in France. A "Cute" Party. Little Williamette Williamson reached her first birthday Wednesday and a fitting celebration was arranged for the occasion. Twelve little one year boys and girls were invited to a party. There was a big cake with one candle for the center of the table, a pink bib was pinned on each little boy and a blue one on each little girl. A dainty Kewpie doll with an abbreviated pink frill for a skirt was given as a souvenir while the principal decoration was a cluster of Kewpies swinging from the electrolier. Refreshments of junket, whipped cream, orange juice arid wafers were served the little folks while the ^"Mama's" enjoyed sandwiches and tea. J , The party was altogether a most enjoyable affair. * A Coming Party. Mrs. James A. Hill has issued irivifa+innc -fnr n RriHcp Pflrt.V at her home on Greenville street for this afternoon (Friday) from five to seven o'clock. * Red Cross Note*. " The members of the Home Service Section of the Red Cross met Tuesday and heard the report of the secretary, $drs. M. T. Coleman, on her recent trip to Atlanta, where she attended a gathering of Red Cross Secretaries. At the Atlanta meeting the question of a peace program was discussed. . # Mrs. Coleman gave her impression of the meeting in the Georgia Cit^f | and when she had finished asked those present whether a peace program t was feasible for Abbeville or not. There was difference of ooin ion as to whether the work- should be continued here, now that most of the soldiers had returned and the pressing problems of the service men disposed of. This question will ^ decided at some future meeting of the executive committee of the Red Cross. I The Book Club.
