Mr. Barnes was singularly fortunate in having his nephew, Mr. Bruce Harper of Middleton, Ga., to drive his car on the mountain ajunt. The young soldier has just returned from overseas duty where he did service in the ambulance corps and had many thrilling and perilous experiences while driving his car in midnight darkness over the mountains of Northern France, often times through torrents of rain ana uerraan arunery. Mrs. Bowden of Decatur, Ga., and Ms. Mahoney of Anderson, spent the week-end with their aunt, Mrs. Maggie Ficquette.
