music for the choir. . Scripture
lessons, teaching us the importance
of such services in a time like
this, were ready by Rev. J. F. Anderson.
Prayers were offered in
behalf of our cause and short talks
given by our seveal pastors.
Miss Mattie Lee Cooley, who has
been teaching in the graded schools
of Gaffney, is at home to spend the
vacation season. Miss Cooley graduated
at Winthrop in the class of

from the superintendent of the

with a notable increase in salary.
ILowndesville takes great pride in
educating' her sons and daughters
and is proud of the record they are
staking.
Mr. and Mrs. J.. L. Gillis were recent
visitors. They motored to Lown
desville from Camden. One day was
spent at Cl'emson with their son,
