Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cason and Miss Daisy Maxwell motored to Greenwood Sunday afternoon and spent a pleasant time with relatives. Hubert Cox came home from the University Saturday and brought his friend, Mr. Wm. F. Robinson of An derson, and enjoyed a little recreation of a few days. They returned on Monday night. Mr. W. E. Owen spent Sunday in Chester with Mrs. Owen and Lewis, who continues to improve. George P. Cannon, of Anderson, , spent Sunday here with his mother. Marion McDonald of Atlanta, spent Sunday here with his mother, Mrs. W. T. McDonald. Mrs. W. J. Ammons of Monterey, spent Monday in our stores looking over the new spring goods and buying what she wanted. Miss Mary Helen Smith is the attractive guest of Miss Margaret Cothran and Mrs. W. A. Lee. Mrs. J. E. Moragne of Bordeaux, and Miss Thelma Cade of Lander college, spent Thursday in the city With friends. I 9 FIELDS DAY. Definite plans for Field Day wer made at the Teachers meeting he! at the Court House on last Satui day. Mis Lois Little added much to the en joyment by several piano selections, Miss Maude Blanchett and Mi Vernon Thornton surprised thei friends by getting married Saturda; evening. Misses Nannie Putman Pauline Willis and Marie Blanchet accompanied them to the Methodis parsonage where Mr. Daniel pel formed he ceremony. Both of the* young people are deservedly pope lar and their many friends wish then much happiness. On Friday night the Night Schoc held a social meeting at the Com munity House. Mrs. Meadows Langley has re turned from a two weeks visit t her son, Bennie Langley, who i slowly recovering from an operatioi at Pryors Hospital in Chester. Mi Langley spent Sunday with Bennie. Abou fifty enjoyed her hospitality. Th young people were entertained a Rook again on Monday night wit Miss Annie Ayers. The new school house will b ready for use in a few days. Th old buildin? will be fitted into gymnasium. ' Dr. Swope addressed the mothei club last Tuesday afternoon. Hi subject was "Polly Anna." H made an interesting and helpfi talk and we look forward with muc pleasure to another visit from him. ' During the winter months Rei H. W. Pratt has very kindly delivei ed two of his stereopticon lecture each month in the Methodist churc of the village. These lectures hav proven very popular as well as ii structive.
