He is always a welcome visitor. Miss Caroline Graves went out to her home at Latimer and spent Sunday with her home people. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Miss Lillian Richey has accepted a position with the J. M. Anderson Co., and will assist in the millinery department this spring. Bailey of Anderson, spent a few days of the past week with John and Victor Lomax. Rodney 0. Stevens left on Friday for Columbia to resume his studies at the South Carolina University. | Mrs. T. S. Greenwood. i Miss Janette Simpson, the efficient teacher of Warrenton school, was the guest of Mrs. Raiford Power Sunday. Miss Mary Quarles Link left Saturday for an extended visit to friends in Jacksonville, Fla. Sam Cason spent part of last week in the city with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cason. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bailey and James, of Catawba, came over on Friday for a stay with friends and relatives. Mr. Bailey returned to his work on Sunday. Miss Mary Q. Link went up to Spartanburg last week to hear the noted pianist, Paderewski, Miss Martha Owings of Anderson College, who is a college friend of Miss Margaret Perrin, was her attractive week-end guest of last week. Hill for a few days of '<ast week. Mrs. S. M. Shiver an^ $am Jr., spent the week-end in Elberton with relatives. Mrs. J. W. Martin and William, spent Tuesday in Greenwood with Mrs. Joe L. Maxwell. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Kilgore and little Sidney, of Clinton, have been in the city for several days with relatives, having been called here on * account of the illness and death of Mrs. J. F. Sutherland. JOHN PERRIN ENTERTAINS. John Perrin was host to a number | of his friends on Friday evening, in honor of his 24th birthday. A lovely cake with twenty-four candles adorned the center of the table and a tempting supper was enjoyed. A most delightful evening was spent while the host received the best wishes for many more happy birthdays. Those enjoying Mr. Perrin's hospitality were: Miss Martha Owings, of Anderson College, Miss Margaret Cothran, Miss Kate McDill, Miss Leila Link, Russell Thomson, Raymond Stilwell, Julian Wilkinson, Edward Smith, James Ferguson.
