SPRAINED HER ANKLE
ON UPTOWN SIDEWALK
Dear Editor:?While the town
council is working the streets please
call attention to that mean step off
by the Greek Candy Kitchen, near
the court house. My ankle was
sprained badly there and I will never
get over it. One lady fell down
there flat, and someone gets a jolt
, there every day.

1 CHIEF JUSTICE AT HOME.
Chief Justice Eugene a. Gary returned
home on last Friday, and will
be here for the remainder of the
winter months. The fall term of
P. the Supreme Court now convenes
several weeks earlier than, formerly
which gives the members of the
court a stay at home and at work
during the disagreeable weather. The
Chief Justice will commence on the
work of filing his opinions very soon*
, He never rests when there is work

Charleston should feel honored
this week on account of the fact that
three Abbeville men and the next
Governor are with the people of that
good city. The Abbeville men are:
Dr. F. E. Harrison, R. N. Tiddy and
Thomas Grant Perrin. Everybody

BLAZE AT BISHOPVILLE.
Biahopville, Dec. 10.?The residence
of County Treasurer T. C.
Perrin was burned Friday night. It
is thought that a defective wire was
the cause of? the fire. Only a part of
the furniture was saved. The building
and furniture were partly covered
by insurance."
Mr. Perrin is an older brother of
Capt. J. L. Perrin of our town and
is well known among the older Abbeville
people, who will be sorry -to
hear of his recent loss.

ALLEGED TIGERS ARRESTED.
Fifteen white men and two negroes
have been arrested in Greenwood
charged with selling blindtiger
liquor. They were arrested on
Monday and confined in jail until
bond could be arranged, Magistrate
Kerr requiring a cash deposit, or a

Consensus of press opinion accredits
"Maid to Order," which will be
one of the early attractions here, as
a rapid-fire musical comedy with a
well defined plot that winds about
the uncles and pesudo uncles of Jack
Darling, flrho are three in number,
and. gives rise to no end of complications.
It is replete with bright,
catchy, tuneful song numbers and 1
presented by a clever cast of comedians,
singers and dancers and a
singing chorus.
"Maid to Order" which will be
one of the early attractions here, is
a breezy, unctious musical comedy
whose action is interspersed with
song numbers and Ensembles of unusual
popular appeal. The fun develops
around the entanglements in
which a young man finds himself because
of too many uncles, one real
and two manufactured. A singing
and dancing chorus adds to the general
excellence of the musical comedy.
