? ??^ "Come-to-Sundayp School Campaign'' Spartanburg, Sept. 21.?At a special meeting1 of the Central Committee of the South Carolina Sunday School Association, held in the office in the Chapman Building, September 20,' February 11, 1917, was adopted as the State-wide "Come-to-Sunday School Day'" for South Carolina. The General Secretary, R. D. Webb, was directed to invite all of the Sunday Schools of all the denominations in the State to join in a co-operative campaign to bring to the Sunday Schools on that day the largest attendance ever recorded on a single day in South Carolina. "Goto-Sunday School Day" was originated by the Kentucky Sunday School Association a few years ago as a state-wide interdenominational movement. Since that time, it has been adopted by other State Sunday finhnnl Associations and some of the demoninations. The purpose of the "Come-to-Sunday School Day" in South Carolina is to get as many people as possible, not ordinarily in the habit of going to Sunday School, to come at least one Sunday; then make them welcome on this Sunday, inform them of the work, provide them with suitable classes and competent teachers, and use every effort to enroll them as permanent members of the school. As a result of the observance of this day in Kentucky, many thousands have been added to the membership of the Sunday Schools, and the average attendance has been greatly increased. In Charleston there 0 were 69 pastors, 140 superintendents, 117 other officers, 439 teachers and 355 pupils in attendance.
