The ground was covered with hail and it was the heaviest rain we have had in years. Mrs. Emma Knox is spending a while with her mother, Mrs. Pressley, near Little Mountain. Mr. W. H. Harton spent Tuesday in Abbeville on business. Mr. H. N. McCain of McCormick, was in town Monday afternoon. Miss Maggie Knox left Monday for an extended visit to friends in Anderson. Carmel High School, organized a Literary Society Friday afternoon. Mrs. H. S. Cason returned home Wednesday afternoon after Several weeks stay in the Hospital in Spartanburg. We are glad to say that her health is much better, and we hope she will continue to improve. Mr. J. H. Chiles of Bradley, S. C., was in town Monday. The pupils of Miss Dora Black spent Friday night at her home. Miss Dora entertained the "younger set" Friday evening in their honor.
