McKissick of Greenwood, was in Abbeville last week visiting friends. Mrs. E. V. Snipe came over from Winder and spent last Friday with Mrs. C. L. Cochran. Leslie McMillan came down from ; Clemson and spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. McMillan. Misses Lillian and Mary Sweten-1 berg spent the latter part of the week with relatives at Peaks. Mrs. Susan Brunson Hill is in the city spending some time with her sister, Mrs. W. S. Cothran. Percy Leach, who is working in Atlanta now, came home and spent Sunday with his home people. Sheriff and Mrs. R. M. Burts went up to Due West and spent Sabbath -with Mrs. Burts's home people. Mr. Roddy Devlin was over from Greenwood this week seeing his friends and being seen by them. Miss Annie Hill, who teaches school at Level Land, spent the latter part of the week in the city with her home people. Mrs. Schwerin, of Sumter, has returned to her home after a pleasant visit to her daughter, Mrs. Sol Rosenberg. Mrs. Lucy Thomson has returned from a week's visit to her daughter, Mrs. Luther Highsmith at Shoals Junction. Miss Caroline Graves went out to Latimer last Saturday and spent Sunurith her home people. Mr. W. A. Klugh was here Saturday. He is getting ready to plant another good crop of corn. Miss Annie Marshall, of Greenwood, is in the city this week visiting Tier friend, Miss Lillian Richey. Mr. J. J. Grant, a prosperous farmer of the Lowndesville section, was in the city Saturday on business. The Misses Sullivan went to their home in Honea Path last Friday and spent until Monday with their parents. Henry Cason came down from Anderson and spent Sunday with his grandmother, Mrs. Fannie J. Marshall. Mrs. F. M. Welsh and little daughter. Winona, of Monroe, N. C., jpent a few days this week with Mr. W. D. Barksdale. Dr. F. A. Coward, of the State Board of Health, has returned from a few days trip to Abbeville.?Columbia Record. Mr. Peebles, the insurance man, is carrying his arm in a sling these days. He broke it in the usual way, cranking a Ford. Mr. W. R. Power spent Sunday with Mrs. Power and children, who are visiting at the home of Mr. Henry Power, at Brownlee. Mrs. Frank W. Wilson, of Warrenton, went over to Athens last Saturday to see her mother, and spent several days visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Martin and C. F. Nelson came down from Greenville last Saturday and spent Sabbath with Dr. and Mrs. J. R. Nickles. Misses Edna Bradley and Elizabeth Faulkner went up to Due West last Friday and attended the celebration of the Euphemian Society. Cann and Duckworth, of Anderson, will have a carload of mules here this week for sale. Headquarters will be at Johnson's stable. Mrs. P. A. Cheatham is back from a short visit to Athens, Ga., where she went to see her friend, Mrs. M. C. Thomas, who is quite sick at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dudley. I How's This? Last Monday when we asked th young ladies in White's Dry Good store to tell us the news, they told 1: that they knew a certain young lad who had never been in love, but th,a she was beginning to pencil h'= eyebrows to make the boys think tha she could fall in love. The youn ladies said that they knew it was n harm because Mr. Daniels had sai in his sermon that girls should do e\ erything that they could to mak themselves look pretty. A SUPPER PARTY. Mr. C. D. Brown entertaine twelve of his gentlemen friends at fish and oyster party last Frida night at his home on North Mai street. The following gentleme were present: Messrs. R. L. Dargs.r H. L. Allen, L.
