This exposition opened Feby. 20th, 1915, b ?nd lasted for two hundred and 0 eighty-eight days. The design of 0 the show was to commemorate the sj opening of the Panama canal and j-j the plans for the whole thing were jr j carried through on a most magnificent scale. The lighting effect, and j the coloring used on the buildings, w ! were such as had never been seen f( j before. The exposition was a fi- jj, j nancial success. Fifty million dol; lars was expended on the site and f I che buildings, and it is expected C( I that a profit of two millions will j be the result. The attendance was j beyor.d the hope of the management, j, sixty-two thousand being the daily u I average.
