Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Tusten and thfcir lit
tle daughter, Ann, returned to New York,
Sunday afternoon, after a week's stay with
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Bradley, and Mr. Tus
ten's father, Mr. H. T. Tqsten.
' Mr. W. D. Tusten is a manufacturing
jeweler making a specialty of high grade <
novelties in jewelry. He began business!
on his own hook only about a year ago,
and his trade has grown both in desirabili
ty and size far beyond his expectations. |
Within the past few months, he, with his
family, visited Europe, combining business j
and pleasure. They were from home al>out
a monlh, part of which time was used very.
profitably in visiting leading manufac.tur- j
ers and making contracts with wholesale:
foreign dealers in precious stones, <fcc.
Mr. Tusten is a pleasant companion
whole-souled and generous to a fault.
Those who knew hiito as a mere boy in this
place could bardiy realize that he hasj
grown iiito a man of unbounded energy j
and of shrewd and economic business qual-1
ifications. Ho has fought his battles in
his own way, nnaided, and he is in the
fairest way to substantial success.

Two young men, Messrs. D. C.Matthews
of Atlanta, Georgia, and B. M. Jorjfs, of
"Newbferry, are running public automobiles, |
doing passenger work from the trains to j
the hotels, and alfeo between the city and j
points anywhere in thos-county. They are
gentlemanly young men, ready to accom
modate, and of pleasing personality.
Mr. Jones is associated with tlx: Sum
mers (image, while Mr. Matthews is run
ning tho city transfer. He is prepared to
carry anxkiud"of. baggage as well as at
tend to passenger trade. A phone call at
the Eureka Hotel will always be answered
