Smith, the Presiding Elder of the Anderson District, came in last Satur day morning, and Sunday at 11 a. m. occu- i pled the pulpit in Smyrna church, and gave to his very attentive congregation an interesting and well arranged sermon; an impressive one, judging from the very close attention given it, while being deliv ered. Baker and her little boy, Charles, of New York, came in Thursday morning and will remain for some time at the home of Mrs. T. Baker. On Tuesday, the last, perhaps, primary election for this year took place. As at every voting precinct throughout the State, so far as heard from, it was exceed ingly quiet, a very small vote being polled, and later news shows thatlittle more than half as many votes were polled at the last as at the first primary.
