Happenings of a Week In and About the,
Seven-Hilled City?Personals.
I Some of the expected home chan
! gers, wanted to begiij the new year
| in their new home, failed the week be
fore last, hoping for better weather.
J the next week, were disappointed, the
weather became worse and many are
j still where they were.
' Last Saturday night a week ago,,
every thing that was exposed was
* covered with snow, to a depth of from
' one to two inches, only in places did
j it melt the next day. Monday morn
ing a slow rain was falling, much of
it freezing as it fell and soon every
, thing in reach had a coating of ice
j upon it, whicli added to during
; the day. This adding of snow to snow
j and ice to ice, made the melting of it
j very slow. Then Thursday night and
[much of the day Friday there was a
j snow blow, which gave us from two
i to three inches of snow all of which
it
| has'made it very difficult to travel, as
| well as dangerous and those who
| could do so stayed as near to their
j home fires as possible?the most of
the moving about has been by the
peoples line in line hat, that could
not be avoided. It is to be much de
sired that the competent authority, if
there be such, would issue an injunct
ion, for bidding the weather man to
J bring any more such weather for
j sometime to come.
It will be remembered that on ihe
| 25th of August 1909, we had a pretty
i good size flood, which carried off the
I bridges on Rocky River and among
| them, the one across that stream
ijknown as the Allen bridge. The irons
| for rebuilding it came to the depot
: here a few days ago and it is supposed
, that they will be put in place soon, if
the weather gets better.
Word came to us Saturday morning
by wire, that Mrs. R. W. Barber was
critically ill at Sampit. Her daughter
Mrs. E. .T. Huckabee. left a once ou
freight train for above place.
During the Xmas holidays Mr. Eu
| gene Baskin, railroading in Michigan,
i was with his father, Mr. Jas. T. Bas
kin and family in robust, vigorous
young manhood, with the prospect of
i long life before him, but alas! we
: know not what a day may bring forth,
the saddening news reached us by
wire yesterday morning that he hud
been killed by he rail road train and
that his remains would be brought
here for burial as soon as possible.
! As yet no particulars are known.
Later on more will be given.

BALD HEADS HOT WAITED.
Baldness is Too Generally Considered a
Stgn of Advanced Age.
, A bald-beaded person does not have an
equal chance with one blessed with a
healthy head of hair, because baldness is
too generally accepted as an indication of
age. Many large corporations have estab
lished an age limit, and refuse to take men
over 85 years of age as new employees.
Probably 65 per cent, of bald-headed
people may regain a good head of healthy
hair if they will follow our advice and ac
cept our oner. We have a remedy that we
positively guarantee to grow hair on any
lead, unless the roots of the hair are en
tirely dead, their follicles closed, and the
scalp has become glazed and shiny. We
want people to try this remedy at our
risk, with the distinct understanding that
unless it does exactly what we claim it
will/ and gives satisfaction in every re
spect, we shall make do charge for the
remedy used during the trial.
We know exactly what we are talking
about, and with this offer back of our
statements no one should scoff, doubt our
word, or hesitate to put our remedy to an
actual test.
We want every one in Abbeville who is
suffering from any scalp or, hair tronble,
dandruff, falling hair, or baldness to try
our Rexall "93" Hair Tonic. We want
th? m to use it regularly?say until three
bottles have been used?and if it does not
eradicate dandruff, cleanse and refresh the
scalp, tighten the hair in its roots, and
grow new hair, we will return every cent
paid us for the remedy for the mere ask
ing, There is no formalitv expected, and
we exact no obligation from the user
whatever.
We are established right here in Abbe
ville, and make this offer with a full UDder
standiug that our business success entire
ly depends upon the sort of treatment we
accord to our customers, and we would not
dare make the above offer unless we were
positively certain that we could substan
tiate it in every particular. Remember,
you can obtain Rexall Remedies in this
community only at our store? The Rexall
