years that have had the absolute stamp t>f
originality and have rejoiced in the fact
that they are entirely nov$l. This, how
ever, may be said of the new comedy, "In
troduce Me," that will be presented at the
Theatre on Wednesday, Jan. 10th. This
. play is'from the pen of the talented young
author Delia Clarke, whose successful
works are well known. Not only this, but
Miss Clarke is the star of the company
that will be seen nere in the comedy,
The story of "Introduce Me" is of the
appealing sort. It is rich in heart interest,
is clean and wholesome and teems with
,, witty lines and effective situations. Above
all else it is a new story to the stage and a
story that is peopled with new characters.
A youn?? author, George Nichol, who has
hard I v won tie success he deserved, is
mariiei to a wonderfully * olever young
x woman. Uuknown to her husband she is
also an anthor and she has met with great
success under the nom de plume of Fran
cis Everton. Her husband has been kept
ignorant of this, she having explained
their income by saying it was an allow
ance from an aged aunt. Her necessarily
frequent absence from home she explains
by saying she is a devoted clubwoman.
Francis has an actress friend, Edna
Somere. Edna believes that Francis' last
book entitled ' 'Susan" will make a splen
did starring vehicle if dramatized. Adroit
ly they work it out that George shall do
the work of dramatization. Meanwhile
thsre eomes a disagreement between the
husband and wife and they separate. It is
only in the end after the play has proved
a success that George finds it is his wife
who has written it and they are happily
reunited. Opera House, Wednesday, Jan
' uary 10th.
