M f Comp] YOI I I F' I EAST END. What "M" Sees and Hears on H Rounds About the City and Alo Route No. 3. Abbeville, S. C., Oct. 19,1910. We are now in the midst of gala wee the Abbeville Fair and Carnival are in ft blast and the city is all astir?people poi ing in from every quarter until a gre crowd is surging to and fro in and abo the city. Magazine street is now t "Broadway" of Abbeville and the old hi torio Magazine Hill is the place of attra tion. Our city should have had banne flying, bunting stretched and floating i welcome in the breeze to the visitoi while our business men should have hj their stores and windows all decorated ai their "best foot" foremost?a grand di play would have advertised their busine in such a way that their names and bus ness would have gone out among the pe pie, not only of Abbeville County, b among adjoining counties, not soon to I forgotten. A little step forward counts great deal in these days of rush and pro ress. On Monday evening exhibits were coi lng in so that many of the departmen were already creditably filled. We ho; the Fair will prove a grand success, ' that our people will look forward to ma ing the next one a larger and greater su cess, and that it will grow in interest fro year to year. Don't get on "stilts" if yo exhibit doesn't take a prize, for reas< will tell you that every exhibit cannot wi no more than every candidate can be elec ed.
