Huckabee also went to above ?{ lamed place by the dirt road. Mrs. W. S. Richardson of Hartwell, Ga., same over yesterday was a week ago and 20 ipent the most of last week with Mrs. T. 3aker and family. A protracted meeting began with the 11 O i. m. preaching service in the Baptist ihurch last Monday. The meeting coninued till Friday night with two services l day, the one at above named hour, the >ther at 8 p. m. The preaching was done >y Rev. Dr. J. F. Vines, pastor of the First iaptist Church at Anderson. He drew arge crowds to every service. Such interisting soul-stirring sermons as he gave to kin hearers will doubtless be thought of T ind talked of for days to come. If there 1 vere more of such men and preachers as . le is, the country would be in a far better sondition. The stores for the most part vere closed for the morning service, and >oth services were well attended by the ^ lifferent denominations.
