congratulated.
On last Thursday afternoon an Interesting
game of ball was played by the "fat and
lean" teams of the city whloh were gotten
up under the auspices of the Civic Club and
presented a unique and rather comlo picture
entirely out of the general appearance
of ball teams.
An extra large crowd was In attendance.
Tbe game was In full heal when a rain storm
or rather Its appearance called a halt and all
scampered tor bome. We don't remembor
tbe score, but tbe fats skinned tbe leans, tbe

too lean to b? experts as of yore,consequently
a number of them came off badly disfigured,
some with black eyes, some with teeth

to eighty dollars, and will go to tbe benefit

The R. F. D. boys enjoyed their holiday
last Batnrdny and spent it as follows:
A. J. Penney, No. 1, with his bet'er half,
spent tbe day with his brother Mr. J. H Penney
of Sharon.
Mr. E. L. McMillan, No. 2, went with a party
of friends on a seining and bad a big time,
but no? much luck as to fish.
M" No. 8, rested at bome and enloyed a
good hot dinner, no "cold snack" about it,
W. E. Penney, No. 4, spent the day with his
family at tbe old homestead amobg the oaks
at Sbaron.

Teachers and sobolars of the Graded School
are off to their homes to enjoy a much needed
rest and we wish for each one a very
pleasant time.

hearts of loved ones happy by tbelr presence.
