Rev. W. S. Hamiter pastor of Good Hope
and Providenoe churches began a meeilng in
the la?t Darned Wednesday at S.80 p. m , and
two services each day have been held. Dr. J
J. Harrold of Westminster has done the
preaching and has given to his hearers very
acceptable and Interesting sermons. Meeting
closed last night. ,
Mr. Harral Lee of Anderson has been at
Mr. B E. Allen's home for the past few days.
Several good, beneficial rains have fallen
over this Township. They largely benefited
the growing crops, and enabled our Town
Council to do some needed work upon oar
streets and sidewalks, patching the boles and
darning the thin places.
Mr. Harry Grogan of Littleton, Ga., came
over Tharsday and went to work the next
day In the store of Messrs Cooley and Speer.
Rev. J. 8. Beasley Presiding Ederofthe

At a Dicnio dinner at St. Jobn's colored
church" two miles from this place, Saturday,
there was a large crowd of negroes gathered, a
row came on late In the evening In which
there was a sort of mix up, as usual hard to
tell which was which?In which Mark Anthony
cut Henry Pet's throat. He was
bronght here and Dr. J. D. Wlioon gave blm
the necessary attention and of coarse will get
well, as one of the race was never known to

Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Llddell and Mrs. John
H. Bell left Friday for a month's absence
visiting relative* In Mississippi. Mr. B. A.
Wilson, Mr. Llddell's substitute will be rural
mall carrier on route No. 1 from this place.
Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Collier, their two little
elrls and Miss Ella Floyd were at Anderson
for several days last week attending the
meeting of the Saluda Association,

to spend some time with kinsfolk,
Mr. James McKelvey of Mt. Carmel Is with
his friend Mr. B. E. Allen and will remain for

Mrs. B. C. Kay after a three weeks stay with
her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Tennent in Atlanta,
came back last week.
Miss Eisa Kay and Mr. Dan Latimer went
over to Atlanta last week, the first to stay

Abbeville county, he goes to Clemson four
