In addition to tbls, we understand tbat all tbe local agents of tbe South-Eastern Tariff Association were Instructed to meet any rates that Mr. McDavld e might make. And so It Is, everybody may I. get Insurance at rates more reasonable than u heretofore. Mr. McDavid rates the Karr Furniture '? warehouse at 81 for both the building and the ' goods. e The WIIsod, Henry <& Co. dry goods, on the j corner of the public square, we believe, Is 3 plaoed by Mr. McDavld at 81, where the 9 MoutbrEastern Tariff Association had previously rated the same at 81.75. MR. CO* wiss. Bat the story of Mr. Cox's success Is not half told. ' If he is not already oere, Mr. Cox is certainly the coming man of Abbeville. His efforts e In the past have been successful. He built 'a the oil mill, and it has been a good thing for Abbeville. He was largely Instrumental In establishing the Peoples Bank. With Dr. S. G. Thomson, president; R. E. Cox, ashler; W F. Nlcklen, assistant cashier. the Peoples Bank stands high with the people and has the confidence of the business world. The wonderful success of the bank, durlnir Its first two years, attest the fidelity and efficiency of its management. The stock would oomiDHDd a high premium, If It were filaced on the market.
