and Special Tax, Inducting One
Dollar Poll Tax, One Dollar
Commutation Tax,
rN ACCORDANCE WITH AN ACT TO
raise supplies for the fiscal year commencing
January 1, 1904, notice Is hereby given
tbat the office of County Treasurer for Abbevllle
County will be open for tbe collection of
taxes for said fiscal year from Saturday, October
ICtb, until Thursday, December 31st, without
penalty. There will be added?
A penalty of one per cent, on all taxes not
paid on January 1st, 1905.
A penalty of two per cent, on all taxes not
paid on February 1st, 1905. . /
A penalty of seven per oent. on all taxes not
paid on March 1st, 1905.

A poll tax of One Dollar per capita on all
male citizens between the ape of 21 and 6p
years, except sucb as are exempt by law, will
be collected.
A commutation road tax of One Dollar will
be collected tbe same time as other taxes
from all male citizens between tbe ages of 18 '
and 50 years, except such as are exempted by

will be required under an overseer, If so much

Taxes are payable only In gold and silver
coin, UnitedStates currency. National Bank
Notes and Coupons of State Bonds which become
payable during the year, 1904.
As so few avail themselves of the opportunity
of pnying taxes at the times and plaoes
heretofore designated, I will discontinue the
appointments over the County, and collect all
taxes at the Treasurer's office.
Parties desiring Information by mall In regard
to their taxes will please write before
December 15th, stating the location of their
property, and Include postage for reply, and
those paying taxes by check must Inolude the
charge for collection.
